YoumaCon 2009

•November 28, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Oh my goodness, what a fall this has been. My schooling has been so chaotic its hard to update directly after a con because I have to get so caught up after missing one or two days! Its ridiculous! But ‘busy’ already is pretty much my middle name!

Youmacon went great. I got to debut quite a few costumes. Including my Rosemary costume from SaGa Frontier; which I had a lovely brother and group for! Oh the SaGa love! I also brought my Julian Moore costume (gallery up shortly) and a new Lady Gaga (gallery up shortly). I didn’t get many pictures of the latter two, thus the reason I don’t have galleries for them yet. I also grabbed my ‘Gijinka’ Robbie costume to hang out with my friend Miri, who also made a Bunny Boy costume to go along with mine. Fun was had by all!

I got to see a ton of awesome friends I don’t get to see very often and I got to meet quite a few new friends; some of which I have a feeling are gonna be some awesome cosplay friendships. Our hotel room was the best thing ever and I also worked for Kingdom Arts. Working for The Arts ended up paying for my trip, and not only that, brought me much closer to some of the coolest cosplay ladies in the world! You know who you are!

Totally going back next year!

School’s been my life! However, instead of updating my website, I’ve been spending the free moments doing photoshoots or working on costumes. Working on Youmacon right now along with all my school work.

Updates to the site include, but are not limited too: the Zombie Family shoot I did Make-Up for, Got some photos of Diana in an abandoned house that we just for fun but turned out really awesome, Got some new banners for the site made by the lovely Leesers, added a ton of new links in general to my Links section (including alot of the people I’ve been shooting with), updated my projects section, took the shop down for the time being, used some recent picture from a recent photo shoot to spruce up my “About Me” section.

GenCon 09

Lady of Pain wins 2nd for Historical/Fantasy at GenCon 09

Gencon this year was so overly busy my head just about exploded! Between booth promoting from about 10:30 to 6 every day, trying to squeeze in gaming and hanging out with Werecabbages, PST Family, Skirmisher People and Cosplay Kids, there’s not alot of time for sleep. Not much at all.

I did however, not manage to get the entire set of Con-itius, just exhaustion and a bit of dehydration. Gencon, it gets me every year!

Cool news: The Booth enjoyed the School Girl Fig I painted them. They want me to paint more figs for their catalog. Skirmisher went Pathfinder. The Pathfinder Book Boomer wrote for (Pathfinder Campaign Setting) won the gold; thus he’s getting a tattoo of the Symbol of Nidal (a country he created in the book). I WON 2nd Place in the Fantasy/Historical catagory my first time entering the Costume Contest. TerrorWerks did an awesome job with filling up the groups and with reviews from players. Will Thrasher had his awesome Cthulhu Live game entered into the Ennies for next year. I got a Dark Maiden fig from Reaper; that will be fun to paint. Got to hang out with Rone at Atomic Array. And Drank and hung out with Boomer and Sam (Tordek) throughout the convention.

It was a wonderful convention overall. Next year I will plan it out better so that I can hang out more (*Sad Face* I didn’t get to hang out with the wonderful 40k cosplayers I met!)

On another note, I put up my New Demon Nurse Gallery and Diana from Rule of Rose Gallery so that I can be caught up before school starts. Enjoy!

GenCon09Pre

In just a few days I’ll be in Indy for GenCon 09! My favorite event of the year (minus Halloween), and its just a few short days away!

Just an update as to what is going down with me and the crew. I’ll be working at Booth #313. Come see me! I’ll be promoting Cthulhu Live, TerrorWerks (with the possibility of acting in a few games), and a varity of other fun Skirmisher Products! I have a Larp Thursday and Saturday Night, I believe both are around 8 pm. Saturday I’m gaming with my friends the Agresta Brothers in the evening until the wee hours. Saturday morning/after noon I will be in the costume contest. It starts at 4pm with a parade through the con before hand. I’ll be participating with my Lady of Pain costume.

Slowly the Lady is coming together. I’m down to the fine tuned details now. I’m an so overly excited to be bringing this costume to GenCon; its been a dream costume for me to make and take to GenCon for as long as I’ve been going. So here’s hoping it all comes out like roses!

P.S. Watch my Twitter. I may ask for some drinking buddies for me and Tordek.

Team USA 09 Gets Brother Award

1st place went to Japan, and 2nd went to Spain! But the costumes were so well put together, the Brother award (kinda like 3rd place) went to Team USA! The above video I captured off the WCS website after a few hours of translating instructions and uploading proper equipment! The song is added and not the original song due to how it was recorded I had to later add a song.

CONGRATULATIONS TEAM USA!
