On the way to Anime Expo 2010 I was delighted to watch Interstella 5555 with Harl and Bonk for the first time. I had seen bits and pieces of it online before, but never the entire movie. I was instantly in love. Not only am I a big Daft Punk fan, but I also loved the style of animation AND SPACE OPERA feel. Harl asked me to be in her Interstella Group for Youmacon and the rest was history. Oh yea, and then I suggested the AWESOME Derka-chan be Octave… and then the rest of History!
I bought the wig from Arda Wigs. Its a Magnum Long in Spanish Brown (050). Bought the glasses online from http://www.gogglesandglasses.com. They have the best shipping confirmation e-mail btw. I recommend them.
I had a heck of a time finding studs for my cuffs, so I ended up buying a 2$ girls studded belt at Walmart and taking the studs off of it to add to my cuffs. They are made from pleater and attach together with velcro.
The shirt I had to make a few times to get the strip just right. I used painters tape and fabric paint in matte white. Cut the sleeves for a shreaded look.
The pants are a funny story. I found some pleather pants that fit me perfect at a Salvation Army. The only problem was they fit me up to my natural waist. (Ala Sally O’Malley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiehDcVZ-vA) So I used some pleather that I used for the cuffs to make belt looks closer to my hips. I made sure they were right were my shirt fell and then put the belt in. This way it looks like the pants are that low when really they are freakin’ old lady high.
The belt was also from Salvo and had a flat buckle that I used to epoxy the Heart belt buckle onto.  I made a buckle for every character that was in the band, minus Stella cause she was wearing the dress, so we all matched. Its made with craft foam and primer. I aged it a bit to make it stand out more.
The shoes I got from Walmart and modified.
Other then Firo and Murdoc, I’d never really crossplayed before. With Murdoc it was easy to cover the fact that I was girl with green make-up and latex. With Firo I just needed to sit down, but with Arpegius I was really having trouble. Because, let’s face it, he’s a bad ass and I wanted to make sure I posed like a manry badass. Bonk tried to help. :D
I would like to make the guitar in the future and the blue version.
